Οι ομάδες μόλις πέρασαν τον 1^ο σταθμό ανεφοδιασμού στην Βοβούσα και τα αποτελέσματα έχουν ως εξής:

Στην 1^η θέση είναι η ομάδα «Vernon Endurance» ενώ με μικρή διαφορά ακολουθούν οι «GrenDevils». Στην 3^η θέση είναι τα «1000 Δέντρα», στην 4^η θέση η «PegasusXanthiTeam», στην 5^η θέση η «SamosTeam», στην 6^η θέση οι «Wolves», στην 7^η θέση τα «Φτερωτά Πετάλια» και η «Iman» και στην 8^η θέση η «Cyclesport».

Βλέπουμε ότι είναι σε εξέλιξη δύο πολύ μεγάλες μάχες! Από τη μία, οι Ιταλοί «GreenDevils» ακολουθούν κατά πόδας την «Vernon Endurance» για να της πάρουν την πρωτιά και από την άλλη τα «Φτερωτά Πετάλια» αγωνίζονται πλάι πλάι με την «Iman» για την έβδομη θέση! Συναρπαστικές οι εξελίξεις και είμαστε ακόμα στην αρχή!

Συνεχίζει να είναι μπροστά η ομάδα "Venon Endurance" κατακτώντας την 1η κορφή της Μόρφας. Ακολουθούν οι ομάδες "Green Devils" και «1000 Δέντρα».

H εκκίνηση για το 1o EΤΑΠ του Bike Odyssey 2014 Λάιστα-Καστανιά δόθηκε στις 09:00πμ με τις ομάδες να ρίχνονται στη μάχη. Το πρώτο ανηφορικό κομμάτι πέρασε και η πρώτη επίδοση ήρθε από την ομάδα «Vernon Endurance» με τους Θοδωρή Κοτόπουλο και Μιχάλη Τσιαβτάρη. Ακολουθεί η ιταλική ομάδα «Green Devils» με τους Vanni Balboni και Emanuele Iannarilli, η ομάδα «1000 Δέντρα» με τους Γιώργο Φραγκούλη και Αντώνη Σαμολαδά και η ομάδα «Pegasus Xanthi Team» με τους Γιώργο Τσουλουχά και Ιορδάνη Σωτηρίου.

The big moment for Laista Circuit comes in less than 4 days! All the athletes have prepared hard to cast in battle for the first place. 

The Laista Circuit will be held for the first time this year on Sunday 22/06/2014 parallel to the prologue of the 8-day race and will take place in the picturesque roads of Laista and the verdant surroundings. The start of the race is scheduled at 11:00 am and will be completed in 6 laps and total distance 33 km. It’s the best way to start the bike epic Bike Odyssey!

In a look at the long term weather forecast, for the days the Bike Odyssey will be in progress, it seems that the weather conditions will be favorable and appropriate to complete the race without any unpleasant surprises.
Specifically, the temperatures from the beginning to the end of the race will range from 20 to 28 degrees Celsius, with the only exception being Laista where probably there will be small showers on 22 of the month, in other areas there will be sunshine.
It's good , nevertheless to be proactive, as far as concern the equipment such as raincoats which will protect in case of rain.
But as we get closer to the day of the race we will have a more clear and confident picture for the weather conditions.

Strong participation in Bike Odyssey 2014

• George and Iordanis
George Tsoulouxas, 34 years old, and Iordanis, 35 years old, are "Pegasus Xanthi team" and as its name reveals, is coming from Xanthi. George has not only a rich experience from his participation in cycling races but also took part in Bike Odyssey 2013, where he achieved third place. Iordanis is cycling since 1999 and he has also participated in many, big cycling races. With this valuable experience and their enthusiasm for taking part in Bike Odyssey, both of them, will fight for the title.

• Antonis and Andreas
Antonis Kourtis, 52 years old, and Andreas Gotsis, 40 ears old, will participate in the race as the "Wolves" team. Antonis from Athens and Andreas from Patra will meet at the mountains of Pindus to live the experience of Bike Odyssey race. Both of them have a big experience in cycling races. Andreas, furthermore, participated, last year in Bike Odyssey. A participation, which is a big advantage for the team, as he is aware of the race's character and its difficulties. Their expectation, are big and they have every reason for that.

• George and Dimitris
George Echarxos, 48 years old, and Dimitris Konstantinou, 53 years old, are the team "Fterota Petalia". The participants have the knowhow in cycling distances of many kilometers. Something that is an important advantage as the kilometers that have to cycle in this race are a lot...George participated yesterday in the 3-day Bike Odyssey. This year, with a new teammate, has new goals, more hard and demanding.

• George and Alexander
George Matthaiou, 24 years old, and Alexander Papandreou, 29 years old, are "Samos Team" and as it is natural they come from Samos island of course. It is the youngest team participating in Bike Odyssey and has some experience in mountain races as allows them their age of course. As indicated by the same, it is a real challenge for them just to finish the race in order to test their limits.

• Tasos and ?
Tasos Koumenidis, 35 years, is from Athens and last minute he was left without a partner because of the second's injury. He has extensive experience in adventure races and specifically in Bike Odyssey since it's the second year that he will participate. It still remains a mystery who athlete will be his new teammate...

• George and Antonis

George Frangoulis, 41 years old, and Antonis Samoladas, 39 years old are the athletic couple of "1000 Dentra" team and they come from Thessalonica . Their characteristic is the resistance in uphill but they lack in technique, and for that reason their purpose of the training sessions was to improve in this area in order to be more competitive. Having the experience of Bike Odyssey 2013 year, this year aim even higher.

    
• Heidi and Natalie Ann

H Heidi Nieuwoudt, 36 years old, and Natalie Ann Hayward, 32 years old, are the “Iman” team and they come from South Africa . They seem to have a lot of experience to mtb races after having participated in numerous one-day races, in a 3-day and 6-day race. However, Bike Odyssey is the hardest race that they will participate as indicated by the same . It is the only women's team in the 8-day event and is expected to be in top positions.

    
• Theodore and Michael

Theodore Kotopoulos, 49 years old from Kastoria, and Michael Tsiavtaris, 31 years old from Drama, are this year's althetic couple of “Vernon Endurance”. Theodore, the winner of Bike Odyssey 2013, has extensive experience in such races. Michael is a coach (http://www.tsias.com) and a triathlete with many Panhellenic discriminations and although his experience in mountain is limited, he is in a very good shape. They have to fight hard to keep the top position since the competition this year will be great.

        
• Kostas and Dimitris

Costas Loukopoulos, 53 years old, and Dimitris Atzampos, 25 years old , joined their forces in “Cyclesport” team from Athens . There is a generation gap between them, but they seem to complete each other, Kostas with his experience and Dimitris with his power . They are slow but stable for long distances as far as concern their performance and they wait for the opponent to make a mistake to fight back.

• Vanni and Emanuele

Vanni Balboni, 44 years old, and Emanuele Iannarilli, 37 years old, are “Green Devils” team and they come from Italy. The “mtb devils", as their name suggests, they show with their cv a hard profile with huge experience in world-class competitions and they come withbigaspirationsfor the title.Will they succeed?
