On June 2nd, 2013 the first Bike Odyssey was successfully completed. The first edition of the eight-day mountain bike race, a unique event in Greece and one of the toughest races around the world is part of the history!

The unprecedented for our country organization was very successful as both athletes and the audience were happy with the result. Eight days of mountain biking in the most beautiful routes of Pindos Mountains at northern and central Greece. From the picturesque Laista to its final destination, Amfiklia city, athletes had the opportunity to cross parts of unbelievable natural beauty, go through national parks, rivers and historic villages and feel the intensity and adrenaline of one of the toughest races in the world. The route crosses on its way with 41 other mountain villages of Greece where local people greeted us with great joy.

"Vernon Endurance" with Kotopoulos Theodore and Kontelas Dimitrios is the one that managed to prevail in our cycling odyssey and reach the finish with the best overall time winning the blue jersey of the leader of the event!

The opportunity to enjoy some of the magic of Bike Odyssey had athletes who participated in the weekend event. The groups were thrown into the battle on 31 May and completed the last three stages of the event. The winning team of Alex Gregory Kabouropoulos-Kalogeropoulos, finished with a total time of 12:41:25 and wore the orange jersey.

> A great cycling festival took place in Amfiklia!

 

On June 2, the last stage of the race was held in a gorgeous route from the village of Gravia to the historical city –of Amfiklia. Participants in Bike Odyssey (8days) and 3 Day Odyssey united with the contestants in one-day event, 1 Day Odyssey. Winner of the one-day race is Papassavas Michael (2:52:00). With this last journey that revealed the final winners per race, Bike Odyssey came to an end for this season. The festive atmosphere at the finish as the crowd applauded the athletes was something unforgettable. The awards ceremony took place in a festive and emotionally charged atmosphere. Athletes, organizers and volunteers celebrated the success of their efforts ... Tears of joy because a unique experience had came to an end.
