Pedal Force One maintain the lead in the overall ranking!

One of the most special stages of Bike Odyssey took place today, on the route that started and ended in the scenic village of Krikello. Today's stage was the shortest distance that the athletes had to cross and in particular almost one-third of the average of the other stages of the event. Therefore, the nature of this stage helped the teams that feel more comfortable at short distances, which also appeared in the course of the race.

There were two teams that claimed the first place during the race today, those of Mossoczy and Maciejowski (BikeBoard) and Papanikolaou and Kalogeropoulos (Pedal Force One). The victory eventually ended in team BikeBoard’s hands, who won their third consecutive stage, having the upper hand on their informal rivalry for the victories with Pedal Force One, but remains still in second place regarding what ultimately matters, which is the overall ranking, in which the Greek team is still in the lead.

Very close to these teams were team Best Men of Toulouchas and Sotiriou (Best Men), who eventually took third place.

More specifically, the BikeBoard and Pedal Force One teams stood out at the beginning of the race. These two teams were riding strongly, without being able to get away from each other, with the Poles retaining a standard lead. Shortly before the middle of the race, Toulouhas and Sotiriou (Best Men) went up and reached the first two teams, forming a group of three teams who were fighting for the first place.

With the advent of the first uphill Best Men failed to keep up, falling behind and letting the case ‘’win’’ to the first two teams.

Shortly after the middle of the race, Papanikolaou and Pedal Force One began their counterattack attempting to overtake Mossoczy and Maciejowski (BikeBoard) and taking  the lead. However, they were once again unfortunate, as they were forced to stop temporarily and even lose third place from Toulouhas and Sotiriou (Best Men).

Moving as fast as possible, Pedal Force One did not only manage to surpass team Best Men, but they also reached pretty close to BikeBoard, chasing the first place. This way, a trio of teams was formed very close to one another, who gave a strong battle for the first place in the last meters of the stage.

Eventually Mossoczy and Maciejowski (BikeBoard) crossed the finish line first, winning their third consecutive victory, with just an one-minute difference from Pedal Force One who came in second, and a two-minutes differnce from, Toulouhas and Sotiriou (Best Men), who won third place.

After the current race, the Poles overcame their main competitors (Pedal Force One) for the first place regarding their informal rivalry for the most wins in stages, as they have three victories over two of Papanikolaou and Kalogeropoulos, managing at the same time to shrink the difference for the first place for the overall ranking. On the other hand, Papanikolaou and Pedal Force One did not let the Poles to significantly reduce the difference in the overall ranking, and if they were not unlucky, they might have managed to win and widen the difference from them their hunters in the overall classification.
